Life Lessons that we LEARN from watching NARUTO

Few years back, Netflix uploaded a whole series of Shonen Jump’s Naruto and I tried to watch it. It was actually my first time to watch Naruto, I just heard of him when we were in college and it was famous back then but I’m really not a fan of anime, no, I’d like to correct myself on that ‘coz I love Inuyasha, Sakura, Sailormoon, Ghost Fighter, Slamdunk, Evangelion, Magic Knight RayEarth and many more but I don’t even have a chance to watch Naruto back then.

So when it’s already available on Netflix, I tried watching it and in just a snap I became a fan. I love Naruto’s outlook in life while enjoying every obstacle that comes his way. I love how positive he is even if he had a dark past. And there were a lot more life lessons that you can learn while watching it and I am thankful that I watched it now that I’m already a ‘young’ adult (yeessssss young adult! char!) because I already understood every meaning, every lessons and was able to absorb it.

Life Lessons from Naruto

1. Have a clear GOAL and stick by it

Just like Naruto, his goal was to become the next Hokage, so even if they make fun of him about being the next Hokage, even if no one believes in him because he is just a curse to their village, Naruto doesn’t lose hope and still sticks to his goal.

So focus on your goal and don’t stop until you reach it just like what Naruto did.

2. You only need one RIGHT person to believe in you

Similar to what Naruto did to Hinata during her battle with Neji, Hinata was so scared and felt like she cannot beat Neji but Naruto gave Hinata the courage and believe that she can beat Neji.

In the same manner in life, we just need one right person to believe in our abilities and through that, we will be able to get all the courage that we have to succeed in life.

3. Celebrate SMALL SUCCESS

Naruto was having a hard time mastering the summoning Jutsu that Jiraiya taught him but despite everything, he doesn’t give up and he still celebrates every small success especially when he summoned a toad.

Having small progress is still a progress and so learn to celebrate every small success.

It is good to know that you are moving even if it takes time but know that you are a step closer in reaching your goal.

4. You have to learn anything by yourself

This was what Jiraiya Sensei told Naruto during his Rasengan training, not everything needs to be taught by your teacher, you have to learn it by yourself.

Stop being a spoon-fed. Learn to research and do you own study.

5.  Stop taking revenge

I remember what Naruto said to Lady Toki, “if you stop taking your revenge, your time will start moving.”

So lesson learned here was, don’t be a prisoner of the past and thinking of revenge from the person/s who hurts you, instead move forward and live into the present.

6. There are some things in life that you cannot buy with money.

Advice given by Naruto to Kuhinisa because Kuhinisa believes that money can buy everything, he keeps on using his “Money Jutsu” if he needs to do something, he even attempts to give Naruto money in exchange of their friendship but for Naruto friendship cannot be bought by money.

Do not let money be the king of our life, there are things that money can’t be bought just like friendship, happiness and love.

POV: This was what I thought before, that money can’t buy happiness, but talking about real world?

  • If you have money, you can simply travel the world and buy everything that you want to be happy.
  • If you have money, you can help anyone who’s in need.
  • If you have money, you can move freely.

Thoughts

We can learn a lot by watching not only Naruto but also other animes out there.
