When I was a little, I didn’t have any childhood friends because we kept on moving from one house to another, and that being said, I was also transferred to different schools so I really don’t have any “childhood best friends”.
Growing up, there is a piece of me that was longing to have a so-called best friend, the “Sam” of my life because everybody needs a “Sam” ‘coz who doesn’t?
As I grow older, the “Sam” that I was looking for comes with a different form, gender and age.
All along, I knew that when your friendship lasts for 7 years, it will last a lifetime but I was wrong, it is not a matter of a “long-term friendship” but a matter of “relationship” that you build to one another.
Every person that comes to your life has a purpose, it is to build you, to make you strong and also to teach you a lesson.
So I’d like to share with you the types of friendship that you need in your life. If you happen to find these types of friends, you better keep them, and if they come in just one form you are way beyond blessed.
Type of Friendship that we need
The Friend whom you can share anything under the sun
It is your most trusted friend, a friend that you don’t need to pretend and will not judge you no matter what you do, what you say, whether you disagree with everything he/she is ready to accept you with arms wide open. He/She may not understand you sometimes but he/she’s still there for you when you need them.

The Friend who will Support you
No matter what you’re dreaming is all about, what business you’re getting yourself into, you will need a friend that will support you and pushes you because they believe in your capabilities and when all else fail, they are still there to encourage you to get back on your feet, they will not leave you hanging.

The Friend who push themselves to be part of your life
There will be a moment in your life that everybody will leave you, maybe because they also have their own life or maybe because you are done with your purpose to them, I came to a point in my life, where I really don’t want to make new friends anymore because I’m tired of building a relationship with another stranger again.
This type of friendship is not needed to be found, they will come to your life unexpectedly and push themselves to you, (not in a bad way) even if you don’t want too, they will become a part of your life without you even realizing it.

You need this type of friend because whenever you feel lost, they already know what to do, they will give you wisdom and food not only to feed your empty stomach but also feed your soul because sometimes all you need is a word of God.

Become your OWN best friend
We need to learn to become your own best friend because not all the time your friends are available to accompany you, they are also busy in their own life like you do, they also have their own responsibilities and we all have problems on our own that we need to take care of, so having yourself as your best friend makes you become more mature and independent, it makes you more a responsible adult because you know how to make yourself happy, how to do things on your own and you know how to take good care of your sanity because sometimes all you need is YOU.
Thoughts
Some say, we need at least one friend to know that we are appreciated but most of the time all we need is your own self. Stop looking out and you should start looking in, having a friend is good but being your own best friend is great!
